About Gail

Hi! I’m Gail Rosenblum. I’m editor of the Inspired section of the Minneapolis Star Tribune which focuses on all that is GOOD in the world. Yes, you read that correctly. All our stories are about hope, solutions and optimism. My first book, “A Hundred Lives Since Then: Essays on Motherhood, Marriage and Mortality”, is available by emailing me at rosenblumgail@gmail.com.

Before coming to the Star Tribune in 2000, I worked for nearly 20 years as a reporter, editor and essayist for many newspapers and national magazines, including Sesame Street Parents, Parents Magazine and Child. In addition to my newspaper work, I’m an author, public speaker, teacher and frequent radio guest.

My company, Roseberry Entertainment, Inc., is producer of the award-winning children’s musical video, “Enough Already!”

In 2019, I founded nonprofit MPGL Entertainment to get quality films with robust teaching curricula into middle schools nationwide. The first project, now in production, is the feature film, “Milkweed,” based on the award-winning novel by Jerry Spinelli.

I have a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of New Mexico, and a master’s degree in journalism, with a concentration in public health, from the University of Minnesota. My writing has garnered awards from the Associated Press, American Association of Sunday and Feature Editors, and the Society of Professional Journalists in Minnesota and Texas. I’m the mother of three young adults, bonus mom of three and recently (and happily) added the title mother-in-law.
